Frequently Asked Questions

Is business travel allowed?

Yes, a business trip such as meetings, conferences or training is allowed. Taking up a job or working for a UK business is not.

How many times can I enter the UK?

As many times as you wish while the ETA is valid, with each visit lasting no more than 6 months.

What if my plans change after I apply?

Your ETA is linked to your passport rather than to a flight, so changing travel dates does not affect it as long as it is still valid.

Can I study on an ETA?

Short-term study is covered. For longer courses you would need a student visa instead.
